Betliar Mansion, situated in southeastern Slovakia, stands as one of the country's most significant noble residences, having served as the seat of the influential Andrássy family. Originally built in the 18th century on the site of a medieval water castle, it underwent a major reconstruction in the late 19th century into a French-style hunting manor. The mansion is uniquely renowned for its interior surviving World War II almost entirely intact, allowing modern visitors to witness an authentic representation of aristocratic life. It houses one of the largest private libraries in Slovakia with over 20,000 volumes, alongside an extensive collection of hunting trophies and exotic artifacts brought from Africa and Asia. The building is surrounded by an expansive 81-hectare English landscape park, which features artificial waterfalls, ponds, and Neoclassical pavilions. Today, it operates as a specialized museum and is protected as a prominent national cultural monument of the Slovak Republic.
