Yekaterinburg Circus (Russia)

Weather…

The Yekaterinburg Circus is one of the city's most architecturally unusual buildings, opened in 1980. Its most striking feature is the external lattice dome, which reaches a height of 50 meters and spans the actual circus hall. This construction allows for a high load capacity for complex acrobatic equipment inside without support columns obstructing the audience's view. The auditorium seats approximately 2,500 guests and is characterized by excellent acoustics. The building was erected based on a design by architects Julian Schwarzbreim and Mikhail Korobov. Throughout its history, the circus has hosted world-famous ensembles and artists from the Soviet and Russian circus schools. Since 2012, the facility has been named after Valentin Filatov, a legendary Russian bear trainer.
