The best time to observe birds of prey in the Tara Canyon is from April to September, when birds are nesting and hunting. In spring the cliffs are especially lively, and in autumn many species pass through.

Etiquette
Keep a safe distance from cliff edges - the canyon is deep and unprotected. Avoid loud shouts or music so as not to disturb the sensitive birds of prey.
What to bring
Binoculars with high magnification are essential to spot birds of prey on the steep cliff faces. Sturdy footwear and possibly a hiking pole are useful on the partly stony paths.

The Tara Canyon is accessible via the road between Mojkovac and Đurđevića Tara. There are several viewpoints and hiking trails along the canyon rim, reachable by car as well.
