Petrovac na Moru is an appealing coastal town, highly valued for its natural beauty and relaxed ambiance. Set in a bay with reddish sand and surrounded by thick pine forests and olive groves, Petrovac gives a peaceful alternative to the bustling Budva. The town's landmark is the Venetian fortress 'Kastel Lastva', perched at the end of the bay, which now serves as a scenic terrace with memorable sea views. Just offshore lie two tiny islets, Katic and Sveta Nedjelja, the latter featuring a small chapel reportedly built by shipwrecked sailors as an act of gratitude. In addition to the main beach, the nearby Lucice Beach is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the region, known for its turquoise waters and pristine surroundings. History buffs can explore 4th-century Roman mosaics, which testify to the area's ancient roots. The waterfront promenade is lined with cozy cafes and restaurants serving local specialties like grilled octopus and black risotto. Petrovac is particularly popular with families due to its safe and manageable size. The best time to visit is from June to mid-September. Scenic walking trails along the coast lead to hidden coves and provide panoramic panoramic views of the Adriatic.
