Organ Hall (Chișinău) (Moldova)

Weather…

The Organ Hall in Chișinău is one of the most magnificent architectural monuments in the Moldovan capital. Originally completed in 1911 to serve as the headquarters for the City Bank, the building was designed by architect Mikhail Chekerul-Kush, following the initial conceptual plans of Alexander Bernardazzi. The structure is celebrated for its monumental Neoclassical style, featuring elegant Corinthian columns and decorative sculptures on the facade. Following an extensive reconstruction, the building was inaugurated as a concert hall for organ and chamber music in 1978. The centerpiece of the hall is a Czech-made organ by the Rieger-Kloss company, which is home to over 3,000 pipes and is famous for its exceptional acoustic properties. Today, the Organ Hall is the premier venue for international music festivals and classical performances in Moldova. Its prominent location on Ștefan cel Mare Boulevard makes it a cultural centerpiece, attracting visitors with its grand architecture and prestigious artistic events.
