Jaluit Atoll

Weather…
Water temperature…
Jaluit Atoll once served as the headquarters for the German colonial administration and later as a significant center for the Japanese. This layered history is evident in the ruins surrounding the main settlement of Jabor. Visitors can explore old government buildings and monuments that whisper stories of a bygone era. Today, Jaluit is primarily recognized for its environmental conservation efforts. The waters surrounding the atoll are a sanctuary for numerous fish species and sea turtles. The underwater landscape is spectacular, with deep passes into the lagoon that attract large pelagic marine life, making it a dream for adventurous divers. The local community is welcoming, often still practicing traditional subsistence methods. One can observe the weaving of fine mats and the construction of outrigger canoes. Jaluit is reachable via domestic flights from Majuro. The best time to visit is between December and March, when underwater visibility is at its peak.
