Mudam Luxembourg (Luxembourg)

Weather…

Mudam (Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean) is Luxembourg's premier museum for contemporary art and an architectural masterpiece in its own right. Designed by Pritzker Prize laureate I. M. Pei, the architect of the Louvre Pyramid, the museum opened in 2006. It is built on the restored foundations of the historic Fort Thüngen, part of the former Fortress of Luxembourg, creating a striking symbiosis of old and new. The bright, light-filled building, with its honey-coloured Magny limestone facade and distinctive glass roof, provides the first-rate setting for showcasing international art. The collection includes works by over 100 artists, including Andy Warhol, and focuses on various disciplines such as painting, sculpture, photography, and new media. Mudam is not just a museum but also a lively place of cultural exchange, with a rich program of guided tours, workshops, and events.
