The townscape is dominated by the monumental Tešanj Fortress, one of the country's largest and best-preserved fortifications, with origins dating back to Illyrian times. During the Ottoman period, the settlement developed into a major commercial and artisanal center, a legacy that remains visible in the architecture of the old town today. Notable structures include the Eminagić House, the oldest residential building in town, and the distinctive 17th-century clock tower (Sahat-kula). Today, Tešanj is also recognized as a modern economic hub, particularly famous for its mineral water production and metalworking industry.
