Drahichyn is a town in the Brest Region of southwestern Belarus, serving as the administrative center of its namesake district. The settlement was first recorded in 1452 under the name Dovechyorovichi. Throughout its history, it was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth before being incorporated into the Russian Empire in the late 18th century. The town is situated in the flat, water-rich landscape of the Polesie Lowland, near the Yaselda River. Its architectural heritage is highlighted by the Sretenskaya Orthodox Church, which dates back to the mid-19th century. Economically, Drahichyn is characterized by food processing and agricultural machinery manufacturing. The town serves as a key stop on the railway line connecting the major cities of Brest and Pinsk. The surrounding natural area is defined by numerous canals and wetlands, typical of the ecologically significant Polesie region.
