The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Ivanava (historically Janów Poleski) is a significant religious and historical monument in the Brest region. The current brick structure was built in 1848 in the Late Neoclassical style, replacing an earlier wooden construction. The town of Ivanava is particularly famous in church history as the site of the martyrdom of St. Andrew Bobola, a Jesuit missionary who was brutally killed here in 1657 during the Russo-Polish War. The architecture of the church is characterized by its simplicity and harmonious proportions, typical of the religious buildings of that era in what is now Western Belarus. Inside the church, a commemorative plaque marks the fate of Bobola, making the site an important pilgrimage destination.
