Kura River

The Kura River, known in Georgian as the Mtkvari, is the longest and most significant river in the Transcaucasus region. With a total length of 1,515 kilometers (941 miles), it originates in the Kars Highland of eastern Turkey, flows through Georgia from west to east, and eventually empties into the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan.
