Water temperature…
Aghjabadi lies in the central Karabakh plain about three hundred kilometres west of Baku and, with around forty thousand inhabitants, is the centre of an important agricultural district. The fertile alluvial soils of the Kura River allow the cultivation of cotton, grain and fodder crops, while the wide steppes offer convenient conditions for sheep and horse breeding. The region is regarded as one of the cradles of traditional Azerbaijani Mugham music, a highly complex modal genre that was inscribed on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in 2008. Several world-famous Mugham singers, such as Khan Shushinski and Shovkat Alakbarova, have their roots here. Notable sights include the modern Mugham Centre, the traditional bazaar with hand-woven carpets and nearby Aggol National Park, one of the most important wetlands for wintering waterfowl in the Caucasus.
