Sotira Waterfall (Albania)

Weather…

Sotira Waterfall originates on the slopes of Mount Tomorr in central Albania and is known for its extraordinary width and structure. The water emerges from several fissures in a massive limestone cliff and drops from heights ranging between 20 and 100 meters. This hydrological phenomenon is fed by an underground river system draining the karst plateau of the Tomorr massif. The surroundings are nearly pristine, characterized by dense forests and a rich endemic flora. Especially in spring, during snowmelt, the waterfall reaches its maximum intensity, forming an impressive water veil across the entire width of the rock face. Geomorphologically, the site demonstrates the strong erosive power of water on the region's Mesozoic limestone.
