Bodega Garzón, located near the easy on the eye village of Garzón in the Maldonado department, is a state-of-the-art winery that has rapidly gained prominence on the global wine scene. The project was initiated by Argentine businessman Alejandro Bulgheroni and inaugurated in 2016. The winery is notable for its sustainable architecture, aiming for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. It spans 19,050 square meters and is designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The vineyards cover more than 240 hectares, divided into over 1,000 small plots to make the most of the diverse terroir, with its unique granitic soils. Although Garzón cultivates a variety of grapes, its focus is on Tannat and Albariño. In addition to winemaking, Bodega Garzón is also renowned for its extra virgin olive oil and its world-class restaurant, led by the acclaimed Argentine chef Francis Mallmann, which specializes in open-fire cooking.
