St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery

St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery is a memorable religious site in Kyiv and a symbol of Ukraine's spiritual rebirth through the centuries. Originally founded in 1108, it was the first church in Kyivan Rus to feature gilded domes, dedicated to the city's patron saint. Although demolished by Soviet authorities in the 1930s, the cathedral was meticulously rebuilt and reopened in 1999 following national independence.
