Travelers usually reach the area from Dushanbe via the Vanch Valley, which requires a sturdy 4WD vehicle and significant travel time. The mountain roads are often unpaved and challenging for even experienced drivers.
Best season
The best months for trekking are from July to September when the high-altitude passes are relatively free of snow. Outside this window, conditions can be extremely harsh and the paths largely inaccessible.
