Weather…

Zbilje Lake is an artificial reservoir on the Sava River located near the town of Medvode, northwest of Ljubljana. It was created in 1953 during the construction of the Medvode hydroelectric power plant and has since evolved into a major recreational area and ecological sanctuary. Covering an area of approximately 0.69 square kilometers, the lake provides well-suited conditions for rowing, boating, and stand-up paddling. The lake is particularly famous for its large population of mute swans, which have become a local trademark and a major attraction for visitors. The lakeside promenade is lined with cafes, restaurants, and playgrounds, making it a favorite spot for families and weekend outings. Ecologically, the lake serves as an important resting ground for migratory birds and supports a rich variety of fish species. Despite its man-made origins, the lake has fully integrated into the local landscape, with walking trails connecting the village of Zbilje to nearby settlements and offering views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
