Port of Novorossiysk (Russia)

Weather…

The Port of Novorossiysk is by far the largest and most strategically important commercial port of the Russian Federation on the Black Sea. Founded in the 1840s, the port has evolved into one of Europe's leading maritime hubs, capable of operating ice-free year-round thanks to the milder climate. As the deepest port basin in the region, Novorossiysk has the capacity to handle massive supertankers and modern container ships. The port complex plays an indispensable role in the export of Russian crude oil and natural gas products, as well as wheat from the highly productive agricultural areas of southern Russia. Tens of millions of tons of cargo are transferred here annually bound for global markets. In addition to its economic significance, the city also hosts a major naval base for the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet. The massive loading cranes, pipelines, and grain silos dominate the bay's skyline, demonstrating the sheer scale of the logistical flows managed here.
