Orda Cave (Russia)

Weather…

Orda Cave, located on the edge of a tiny village in the Perm region, is widely revered among extreme cave divers globally as a sort of 'Holy Grail' of underwater exploration. It holds the prestigious title of being the longest known underwater cave system in Russia, as well as the longest entirely submerged gypsum cave anywhere in the world. The vast network of gigantic, winding subterranean passages was literally carved out by water dissolving the soft gypsum bedrock, leaving behind impossibly smooth, blindingly white walls that glow surrealistically under the beams of dive lights. The cave's water is absolutely legendary for its unbelievable clarity; underwater visibility frequently exceeds 45 meters, often giving divers the exhilarating sensation of flying through thin air. Despite its profound beauty, diving here is intensely perilous, requiring specialized training due to the constant, frigid 5°C water temperature.
