💡 Tips

  • Don't miss the 'Falowiec' on Obrońców Wybrzeża street, an undulating Soviet-era residential block over 800 meters long.
  • Renting a bike is highly recommended; the coastal path running through Reagan Park is flat and highly scenic.
  • The beach in this district is noticeably wider and generally much less crowded than the main beach in nearby Sopot.
  • Take the direct local trams for a very easy and cheap connection to Gdańsk Old Town and the Oliwa district.

Relax with regional Pomeranian beers at the casual, sand-floor beach bars open during the evening.

Przymorze Wielkie is a district in the northern part of Gdańsk, located on the Baltic Sea coast. It is mainly known for its distinctive architecture from the Polish People's Republic era, especially the 'Falowce' (Wave-like blocks), which are among the longest residential buildings in Europe. Originally designed as a large housing estate, Przymorze has developed into an animated district with excellent infrastructure. Its major attraction is the Ronald Reagan Park, a vast green space stretching along the coastline, offering numerous bike paths, playgrounds, and ponds, excellent for recreation and leisure. The park leads directly to a wide, sandy beach, popular with visitors during the summer. The local cuisine benefits from the proximity to the sea, with many places serving fresh fish. Przymorze is well-connected to the rest of the Tricity (Gdańsk, Sopot, Gdynia), with frequent tram and bus services. The best time to visit is summer to enjoy the beach and outdoor activities in the park, though the seaside has its charm all year round.
