Gdańsk Zoo (Poland)

Weather…

The Gdańsk Zoological Garden, idyllically situated in the Oliwa district, is scenically one of the most beautiful facilities in Europe. Tucked away in an expansive, hilly, and densely wooded moraine valley on the edge of the Tri-City Landscape Park (Trójmiejski Park Krajobrazowy), it provides the animals exceptionally naturalistic and spacious enclosures. With its enormous area covering over 125 hectares, it is one of Poland's largest zoos, providing visitors with ample space for long, relaxing walks under old-growth trees. The Gdańsk Zoo has earned international acclaim for its highly successful breeding program for condors, and rare species such as the Angolan pygmy hippopotamus and Siberian tigers also find a sanctuary here. Particularly noteworthy is the impressive collection of African ungulates and antelopes that inhabit expansive, savanna-like clearings. An additional draw for families is the integrated Dino Park, which playfully complements the natural history education.
