The Koror Business District is the pulsating economic engine of the Republic of Palau, centered primarily along the bustling Main Street. This area serves as the nation's financial hub, containing major banking institutions such as the Bank of Hawaii and the National Development Bank of Palau. It is the primary location for retail commerce, anchored by the WCTC Shopping Center, the largest department store in the country. The district also hosts a high concentration of professional services tailored to the tourism industry, including major dive operators and hospitality management firms. While the political capital moved to Ngerulmud on Babeldaob Island in 2006, Koror remains the de facto commercial center where most private sector investment is focused. The area features the highest real estate values in the country and continues to develop with modern office spaces and infrastructure, reflecting Palau's ongoing integration into the global economy and its status as a premier Pacific business hub.
