Visiting
The Mogila burial mounds (Visoki) are an open-air archaeological site that can be visited at any time and without an entrance fee. The mounds are freely accessible as they lie in the open landscape.
Typical hours
As this is open land, there are no visiting hours. Visits are recommended during daylight when the mounds are most visible and the surroundings are safer.
Photography
Photography is allowed across the entire site without restrictions. The gentle mounds against the backdrop of the surrounding mountains offer excellent photo subjects, especially in low sunlight.
Time needed
A visit to the burial mounds takes about 30 to 45 minutes if you walk around each mound and enjoy the view. For a more thorough exploration with a picnic, you can plan up to 1.5 hours.

The mounds are located near the village of Mogila, which you can also visit. Combining this with the Church of Saint Demetrius in Krivogaštani provides a good overview of regional history.
Getting there
The mounds are accessible by car via an unpaved road branching off from the main road through Mogila. You can park at the edge of the field near the first mounds.
Insider tip
Wear sturdy footwear as the terrain is uneven and can be muddy depending on the season. A visit in spring, when the surrounding fields are green, has the most beautiful backdrop.
