Godawari Botanical Garden is located in Lalitpur District, about 15 km southeast of Kathmandu, at the foot of Phulchowki Hill. It was established in 1962 on an area of about 82 hectares and is the largest botanical garden in Nepal. The garden houses an extensive collection of native and exotic plants, including orchids, rhododendrons, cacti, and medicinal plants. There is a pond, greenhouses, and walking trails. The garden serves botanical research, conservation, and education. It is managed by the National Trust for Nature Conservation. The facility also includes a children's playground and picnic spots. Godawari Botanical Garden is a popular destination for nature lovers and provides panoramic views of Phulchowki. The climate is pleasantly cool.
