Nador West Med Port Project (Morocco)

Weather…

Nador West Med is one of Morocco's most ambitious infrastructure projects, aimed at establishing a massive industrial and port complex in the Bay of Betoya. The project is strategically positioned to serve maritime traffic in the Western Mediterranean and to become a major hub for energy trade. With a strong focus on hydrocarbons, particularly the storage and transshipment of oil and gas, it is designed to enhance national energy security and position Morocco as a regional energy node. The port will feature terminals for containers, bulk cargo, and specialized shipments, complemented by an extensive free trade zone. Construction began in the mid-2010s, backed by massive government investment and international financing. Nador West Med is considered the eastern counterpart to the successful Tanger-Med port and is expected to drive economic development in Eastern Morocco by attracting industrial companies and creating thousands of jobs.
