Noul Neamț Monastery (Moldova)

Weather…

The Noul Neamț Monastery in Chițcani is one of the most important Orthodox spiritual centers in the Transnistria region. It was founded in 1861 by monks who came from the Neamț Monastery in Romania to escape the secularization of monastic properties. The complex is renowned for its impressive 69-meter-high bell tower, considered the tallest in Moldova, which has expansive views over the Dniester valley. The monastery's architecture reflects the Russian-Byzantine style and includes four separate churches dedicated to different saints. After a period of closure during the Soviet era, the monastery was reopened in 1990 and today houses an active monastic community and a theological seminary that trains clergy for the region.
