Vadul lui Vodă is the premier recreational hub on the banks of the Dniester River, located approximately 23 kilometers northeast of the capital, Chișinău. First documented in 1432, the town began its transformation into a resort area in the 1930s. Its extensive sandy beach, widely regarded as one of the best in Moldova, draws thousands of visitors during the summer months. The riverside area is dotted with numerous holiday homes, sanatoriums, and children's camps, all set within a lush forested park. Beyond sunbathing and swimming, the Dniester provides opportunities for boat trips and various water sports. While administratively part of the Chișinău municipality, Vadul lui Vodă retains the charm of a dedicated resort town with a relaxed, vacation-oriented atmosphere.
