Getting there
The reserve is located near Andasibe and is accessible by road from Antananarivo; a short walk from the village leads directly into the protected forest area for visitors.
Best season
The best time to visit is from April to December; avoid the peak cyclone season from January to March, when heavy rainfall can make the forest trails completely impassable.
Terrain & paths
The trails in the humid tropical forest can be narrow and very slippery after rain; the terrain is hilly with some moderately steep climbs through the lush green vegetation.
What to bring
