Andasibe-Mantadia National Park (Madagascar)

Weather…

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is one of Madagascar's most renowned protected areas, located approximately 150 kilometers east of the capital city. Spanning an area of 155 square kilometers, the park consists primarily of primary mid-altitude rainforest. It is world-famous for being the home of the Indri Indri, the largest living lemur species, whose haunting, whale-like calls can be heard echoing through the forest for kilometers. In addition to the Indri, the park shelters eleven other lemur species, including the Diademed Sifaka and the Red-bellied Lemur. The flora is equally impressive, featuring a vast variety of orchids, ferns, and lianas that create a dense, verdant canopy. The humid tropical climate with frequent rainfall supports high levels of biodiversity, including over 100 bird species and numerous endemic amphibians and reptiles. The park is a critical site for both scientific research and ecotourism, playing a vital role in preserving the island's unique biological heritage.
