Užutrakis Manor (Lithuania)

Weather…

Užutrakis Manor, located on the photogenic shores of Lake Galvė opposite Trakai Island Castle, is one of the most magnificent Neoclassical ensembles in Lithuania. It was commissioned in the late 19th century by Count Józef Tyszkiewicz and designed by the Polish architect Józef Huss. The elegant white palace stands out for its harmonious proportions and luxurious interior decoration, reflecting the wealth of the Lithuanian nobility. A major highlight is the extensive landscape park designed by the famous French landscape architect Édouard André. The park features a sophisticated system of ponds, canals, and rare plant species, creating a romantic atmosphere. During the Soviet era, the estate was nationalized and used as a sanatorium and a pioneer camp, which led to significant damage. Following extensive restoration efforts in recent years, Užutrakis has been restored to its former glory and now serves as a cultural center for concerts, exhibitions, and exclusive events.
