Junkerau is a significant district in the municipality of Triesen, situated between the historic village center and the banks of the Rhine. This area of Liechtenstein is closely linked to the country's industrial development, particularly through the establishment of the Triesen weaving mill in the 19th century, which permanently changed the social fabric of the region. Geographically, Junkerau lies on a flat alluvial plain formed by mountain streams and Rhine deposits. While the area was previously used primarily for agriculture as pasture land, it transformed into a center for production with industrialization and later into a modern residential and commercial zone. Today, Junkerau houses residential complexes alongside sports facilities and important local businesses. The architecture is characterized by functional industrial buildings, some of which are protected heritage sites, as well as contemporary housing. Due to its location on the valley floor, the district gives excellent connections to Liechtenstein's transport axes and is a vital part of the Triesen community.
