Asaluyeh Industrial Area (Iran)

Weather…

The Asaluyeh Industrial Area, officially part of the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ), is Iran's primary energy hub located on the Persian Gulf coast. It was established in the late 1990s to serve as the onshore processing base for the massive South Pars Gas Field. The area hosts a gargantuan concentration of gas refineries, petrochemical complexes, and maritime export terminals. Asaluyeh is one of the world's largest sites for the production of ethylene, methanol, and urea. Its infrastructure features specialized ports, dedicated power plants, and large-scale desalination units to meet the heavy industrial demand for energy and water. Economically, Asaluyeh is of existential importance to Iran, as it processes the majority of the natural gas used in the national pipeline network. The zone continues to attract massive investment and symbolizes the country's industrial transformation. Due to the high density of heavy industry, environmental impact in the region is a significant concern, leading to increased focus on green technologies.
