Brno Zoo
Brno Zoo was opened in 1953 on Mniší hora hill in the Bystrc district and currently covers an area of about 65 hectares. The hilly topography provides varied habitats for the animals and scenic walking paths for visitors through forested terrain. A primary focus of the zoo is the fauna of the Northern Hemisphere, showcased in the impressive 'Beringia' exhibit for polar bears, wolves, and Arctic foxes. Other significant sections include the African savanna with giraffes and zebras, and the enclosure for Sumatran tigers.
