The Jewish Quarter in Třebíč is one of the best-preserved testaments to Jewish culture and history in Europe and is the only Jewish monument outside Israel to be independently listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The quarter comprises over 120 buildings, including two synagogues, a community house, and a former Jewish hospital, all arranged within a tight, winding street structure. For centuries, the Jewish community lived here in peaceful coexistence with their Christian neighbors, architecturally reflected by its immediate proximity to the Romanesque-Gothic St. Procopius Basilica. The quarter's history is marked by economic prosperity but also by the tragic events of the Holocaust, after which the community was almost entirely eradicated. In the 1990s, a comprehensive renovation began, preserving the original character of the ensemble. Today, the quarter serves as a memorial and a living museum, documenting the religious traditions and daily life of Moravian Jews.
