The Nkam River and the famous Ekom waterfalls are typically accessed via the road from Nkongsamba. A robust four-wheel-drive vehicle is usually essential for navigating the unpaved terrain.
Best season
The most impressive water flow is typically experienced during the rainy season from July to October. However, the dry season often provides safer road conditions and much easier overall access.

The surrounding landscape consists of dense rainforest and steep, uneven slopes near the river. Visitors should expect muddy paths, slippery rocks, and generally challenging footing in the area.
What to bring
