Reunification Stadium

The Stade de la Réunification is a multi-purpose stadium located in the Bépanda neighborhood of Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon. Originally constructed in 1972 to host the eighth edition of the African Cup of Nations, it stands as a significant monument to the country's sporting history and national unity. The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 30,000 spectators and primarily serves as the home ground for prominent local football clubs such as Union Douala and Les Astres FC. Between 2018 and 2020, the facility underwent extensive renovations to meet international standards for hosting the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. The modernization included the installation of a new natural grass pitch, improved lighting systems, and upgraded media facilities. Beyond football, the stadium features an athletics track and is used for various cultural events and regional celebrations, making it a central hub for community life in the Littoral Region.
