The park is famous throughout Europe for hosting the continent's 'Big Five', the wolf, brown bear, Eurasian lynx, European bison, and wolverine, allowing them to roam in vast, naturalistic enclosures. The institution's primary mission goes beyond public exhibition; it actively participates in major conservation and rewilding programs for highly endangered European species. Visitors can traverse this rugged, hilly terrain either by taking an open-air safari truck or by embarking on extensive walking trails equipped with spectacular canopy suspension bridges. The Wildlife Park Han-sur-Lesse is open from spring to autumn, best months are May to September when weather is mild and animals active. In autumn, the leaf colouring is beautiful, and animals are more agile due to cooler temperatures.

Early morning just after opening, animals are hungriest and therefore most active - good for watching. Late afternoon during feedings, animals come especially close to the visitor paths.

The wildlife park is located directly at the entrance of Han-sur-Lesse, well signposted from the N86. Parking is available at the park entrance.

Large animals like bison and moose may hide in the woods - take your time and watch quietly. As the park is extensive, it is worth doing the whole loop, even if some animals only appear later.
