Coo, a small village in the municipality of Stavelot, is home to the famous Waterfalls of Coo (Cascades de Coo). Dropping 15 meters on the Amblève river, these are among the most impressive natural waterfalls in Belgium. The site is uniquely integrated with Plopsa Coo, a family-oriented theme park that provides a variety of rides and animal encounters right next to the rushing water. A chairlift (Télécoo) takes visitors to a hilltop viewpoint, offering an impressive panoramic view of the Amblève valley and the massive storage basins of the Coo-Trois-Ponts hydroelectric power station, one of Belgium's most important energy facilities. The forested slopes surrounding the village are crisscrossed with trails for hiking and mountain biking, while the river is a hotspot for kayaking and outdoor adventures. The village center is filled with characterful eateries serving Belgian waffles and regional specialties. Coo is exceptionally easy to visit by public transport, as it has its own train station on the scenic Liège-Luxembourg line, just a short walk from the falls. The best time to visit is from spring to early autumn, when the theme park is open and the valley is lush and green. It remains one of the top family destinations in the Ardennes.
