Ebersdorf Castle
Ebersdorf Castle is located in the municipality of the same name in Lower Austria and features a long history as a noble residence. The current castle evolved from a medieval manor that was remodeled several times over the centuries. The era under the Ebersdorf family was particularly significant, as they gave both the town and the building their name. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the site was expanded into a representative Renaissance castle, where its defensive nature faded in favor of more residential elements. The architecture is characterized by harmonious proportions and a well-maintained courtyard. In the 18th century, Baroque adjustments were made, primarily affecting the interior design and the gardens. During the Napoleonic Wars, the castle temporarily served as troop quarters, leading to structural damage. In modern times, the castle has been extensively restored and now serves various cultural and administrative purposes while retaining its historic charm.
