Sankt Andrä is a town municipality in the district of Wolfsberg in Carinthia, located in the middle Lavant Valley. The town has outstanding historical significance, as it was the seat of the Bishops of Lavant from the 13th century until 1859. The town's landmark is the St. Andrew's Cathedral, a former cathedral that combines Gothic and Baroque elements and houses valuable art treasures. Another spiritual center is the magnificent Maria Loreto pilgrimage church with its adjacent Dominican convent. Geographically, the municipality is shaped by agriculture in the fertile 'Paradise of Carinthia,' where fruit growing, especially apples, plays a central role. The surroundings offer gentle hilly landscapes and the nearby Zogglsee, inviting nature activities. Economically, Sankt Andrä is now a mix of agricultural businesses, trade, and services. The townscape is characterized by historical buildings and the former episcopal residence, giving the town a dignified atmosphere.
