Weather…

Pucará de Tilcara is a restored pre-Incan fortress situated on a strategic hill in the heart of the Quebrada de Humahuaca in Jujuy Province. Built around the 12th century by the Tilcara people, it served as a defensive structure as well as a religious and administrative center. The site comprises numerous stone houses, workshops, burial grounds, and ceremonial plazas that offer deep insight into the lifestyle of Andean peoples before the arrival of Europeans. In the 1950s, extensive restoration work began under the direction of archaeologist Eduardo Casanova. Today, the site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Quebrada de Humahuaca. Visitors can enjoy a vast panoramic view of the valley and the surrounding colorful mountains from the top of the fortress while exploring the on-site botanical garden featuring local flora.
