Port of Salif (Yemen)

Weather…

The Port of Salif is located on the Red Sea coast, north of Al Hudaydah, and is renowned for its natural deep-water harbor protected by Kamaran Island. It is one of Yemen's most important ports for importing bulk cargo such as grain and foodstuffs, as well as exporting high-quality rock salt. The surrounding areas contain vast salt deposits that have been mined for generations. Thanks to its deep draft of up to 14 meters, Salif can accommodate large vessels that are unable to berth at the neighboring port of Hodeidah due to shallower waters. The terminal is equipped with modern grain silos and specialized conveyor systems for salt export. During times of conflict, Salif has played a critical role in receiving humanitarian aid and food supplies for the Yemeni population, as it is considered one of the most efficient transshipment points on the country's western coast.
