Bajil Cement Factory

The Bajil Cement Factory, located in the Al Hudaydah Governorate, is the oldest cement production facility in Yemen and a pioneer of the national industry. Built in the early 1970s with support from the Soviet Union and China, the factory began its operations in 1973. Its strategic location on the main highway connecting the port of Hodeidah with the capital, Sana'a, facilitates the efficient transport of raw materials and finished products. Originally designed with a modest capacity, the plant has undergone several expansions and modernizations to meet the growing demands of the Yemeni construction sector. Bajil utilizes the rich limestone deposits of the Tihama plain and serves as a major economic engine for the region.
