Karpatnaftokhim in Kalush is the largest petrochemical complex in Ukraine and a major producer of polymers and basic chemicals in Southeast Europe. The plant specializes in the production of ethylene, polyethylene, vinyl chloride, and caustic soda. Since a comprehensive modernization in 2004, the facility has been among the most technically advanced in the region, utilizing state-of-the-art processes for energy conservation and emission reduction. Karpatnaftokhim plays a central role in the country's plastics industry and supplies numerous downstream companies. Its geographical location in Western Ukraine enables efficient export to the European Union. The company is the most important employer and taxpayer in Kalush, contributing significantly to the city's social infrastructure. Despite fluctuations in raw material prices, the plant remains a strategic pillar of Ukrainian industry. In recent years, projects to diversify the product portfolio have been initiated to strengthen competitiveness on the global market.
