Val d'Illiez is a scenic side valley of the Lower Valais, extending from Monthey to the impressive Dents du Midi peaks. Getting there
The valley is best reached by train (AOMC) from Aigle or Monthey, which serves the villages in the valley. By car, the main road leads directly into the heart of the Portes du Soleil region.
Best season
In winter it is a paradise for skiers, while summer is well-suited for mountain bikers and hikers. The intermediate seasons can be somewhat quieter due to the temporary closures of the mountain lifts.
