Meyrin is a city in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland, best known as the host of the Geneva International Airport, which partially lies within its boundaries. The city transformed from an agricultural village into a major economic hub following the establishment of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, in 1954. CERN operates the Large Hadron Collider on Meyrin's soil and employs thousands of scientists globally. Meyrin also serves as a residential area for many international workers, fostering a multicultural population. The municipality has excellent infrastructure, including schools, shopping centers, and recreational areas like the Bois de la Bâtie forest. With a population of around 25,000, Meyrin continues to grow steadily.
