The absolute optimum time for a visit, especially for peak whale watching, is November to April. During the active monsoon season, the ocean becomes significantly rougher.

The area has wide, incredibly soft sandy beaches that transition into rocky headlands. Main walking areas are mostly flat, perfectly suited for relaxed barefoot strolling.
