Mokpo

Mokpo is a historic port city located at the southwestern tip of the Korean Peninsula in Jeollanam-do Province. The city gained prominence during the Japanese colonial era as a vital export port for agricultural products, a legacy still reflected in the preserved architecture of its old city center. A prominent landmark is Mount Yudalsan, which features panoramic views of the city and the offshore archipelago with its numerous islands. Mokpo serves as a primary gateway for ferry services to islands such as Jeju and Heuksandan.
