Lambi is located on the western coast of Guadalcanal and is one of the most remote settlements in the western part of the island. The settlement lies on the edge of Lambi Bay, which provides a sheltered anchorage; however, due to the lack of developed road connections to the capital, Honiara, it is primarily accessible by sea. Geographically, the region is characterized by the convergence of steep mountain ranges and the Coral Sea, resulting in a spectacular but difficult-to-develop landscape. Historically, Lambi served as a local trading post and a transit point for agricultural products from the hinterland of West Guadalcanal. The local population relies on subsistence fishing and crop cultivation, with the community maintaining a strong connection to their ancestral land. In recent years, there have been efforts to improve infrastructure to facilitate access to education and healthcare for this isolated region.
