Pezinok, picturesquely situated on the southeastern slopes of the Little Carpathians and just a short drive from Bratislava, is one of the most appealing and traditional wine towns in Slovakia. The city is the bustling heart of the Little Carpathian Wine Route and is world-renowned for its centuries-old viticultural culture, which is celebrated every September with a spectacular grape harvest festival (Vinobranie). The historic center captivates visitors with its typical winemakers' houses and the majestic Pezinok Castle (Šimák Zámok Pezinok), which today houses a luxury hotel, a premier winery, and an impressive art collection. In addition to winemaking, Pezinok is also known for its rich tradition in ceramics production, which is impressively documented in the Little Carpathian Museum. The surrounding forests and vineyards also make the city a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.
